Litany of Christ, Priest and Victim

Kyrie eleison. Christe eleison. Kyrie eleison
Christ, hear us. Christ, graciously hear us.
God the Father of heaven, have mercy on us.
God the Son, Redeemer of the world, have mercy on us.
God the Holy Spirit, have mercy on us.
Holy Trinity, one God, have mercy on us.
Jesus, Priest for ever, have mercy on us.
Jesus, called by God a Priest after the order of Melchizedek,
Jesus, Priest whom God anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power,
Jesus, great High Priest,
Jesus, Priest taken from among men, have mercy on us.
Jesus, Priest appointed for men,
Jesus, Priest of our confession,
Jesus, Priest worthy of greater honour than Moses,
Jesus, Priest of the true tabernacle,
Jesus, Priest of the good things to come,
Jesus, Priest holy, innocent and undefiled,
Jesus, faithful Priest,
Jesus, merciful Priest,
Jesus, beneficent Priest,
Jesus, Priest burning with zeal for God and for men,
Jesus, Priest made perfect for eternity,
Jesus, Priest who has entered heaven,
Jesus, Priest seated at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Jesus, Priest interceding for us before the face of God,
Jesus, Priest who has opened for us a new and living way,
Jesus, Priest who has loved us and washed us from our sins in your Blood
Jesus, Priest who gave yourself up as an offering and a victim to God,
Jesus, Victim of God and of men,
Jesus, holy Victim,
Jesus, immaculate Victim,
Jesus, Victim accepted by God,
Jesus, Victim of reconciliation,
Jesus, solemn Victim,
Jesus, Victim of praise,
Jesus, Victim of peace,
Jesus, Victim of propitiation,
Jesus, Victim of salvation,
Jesus, Victim in whom we have confidence and bold access to God,
Jesus, Victim who has made both one,
Jesus, Victim offered from the foundation of the world,
Jesus, Victim living throughout all ages,
Be merciful, spare us, O Jesus.
Be merciful, graciously hear us, O Jesus.
From all evil, deliver us, O Jesus.
From entering rashly upon the service of the Church,
From the sin of sacrilege,
From the spirit of incontinence
From the pursuit of money,
From all greed,
From the misuse of the goods of the Church,
From the love of the world and its pride,
From celebrating the holy Mysteries unworthily,
Through your eternal Priesthood,
Through the holy anointing of your Divinity, by whose power God the Father made you a Priest,
Through your priestly spirit,
Through the ministry by which you glorified your Father on earth,
Through the bloody sacrifice of yourself offered once upon the Cross, deliver us, O Jesus.
Through that same sacrifice renewed daily upon the altar
Through the divine power which you, the one and invisible Priest, exercise through your priests,
That you would keep all the servants of the Church in holy devotion, we beseech you, hear us, O Lord.
That the spirit of your priesthood may fill them,
That the lips of priests may keep knowledge,
That you would send unwavering labourers into your harvest,
That you would turn your servants into burning torches,
That you would raise up shepherds after your own Heart,
That all priests may be blameless and without stain,
That all who see the servants of the altar may honour the Lord,
That they may offer you sacrifices in righteousness,
That through them you would spread devotion to the Blessed Sacrament,
Priest and Victim, we beseech you, hear us, O Lord.
Let us pray: O God, sanctifier and Guardian of your Church, raise up in her through your Spirit worthy and faithful stewards of the holy mysteries, so that by their ministry and example, with your help, the Christian people may be guided along the way of salvation. O God, you commanded the disciples at prayer and fasting to set apart Paul and Barnabas for the work to which you had destined them; be now with your Church at prayer, and show us those whom you have chosen for your service. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
