Prayer of Paul VI

O Lord, give your servants a pure heart, able to love you alone. A heart that would know no evil, capable of wonder and of holy fear. Give them a great heart, open to your designs and closed to every narrow ambition, to every petty rivalry among men. A heart able to match your own and able to love all and to serve all. O Lord, give them a strong heart, willing and ready to face every difficulty, every temptation, every weakness, every weariness and fatigue, a heart able to serve with perseverance, patience and heroism the mystery you entrust to those sons of yours whom you have made one with yourself. Give them, Lord, a heart able to love truly, that is, able to understand, to accept, to serve and to give itself, able to be happy, beating with your feelings and your thoughts.
