Prayer for vocations by Paul VI

O Jesus, divine Shepherd, who called the Apostles to make them fishers of souls, draw to yourself the ardent and generous minds of the young and make them your followers and your servants.

Grant that they may share your desire for the redemption of all, for which you renew your Sacrifice upon the altars.

You, O Lord, who live for ever to intercede for us, open before them horizons in which they may see the whole world, where the silent plea of so many brothers rises up for the light of truth and the warmth of love, so that answering your call they may prolong your mission here on earth, build up your mystical Body - the Church - and be the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

Extend, O Lord, your loving call also to many women's hearts, pure and generous, and pour into them the desire for evangelical perfection, for giving themselves to the service of the Church and of the brothers who need help and love. Amen.
