A Prayer of Paul VI

Supreme Priest, Jesus Christ, endow our priests with your power and your unfathomable love. Arm them with patience and forbearance towards human weakness.

Give them unyielding courage in the struggle against every evil. Teach them a shepherd's care for the lost sheep, and make them enlightened guides along the roads of our doubts and our despondency.

Immerse them in your holiness, so that their life may be always a living sign in which people recognise you, Lord. Amen.
